Travel Guide
Blow you will find useful information to assist your preparations to attend 2007 UNEP-EPLC Orientation.

  (1) Arrivals

Participants arriving on the 19th of August will be greeted at Incheon International Airport by a member of the organizing committee who will accompany you to the accommodation at Seoul Youth Hostel. Registration will take place at the accommodation. Once you have registered the time is yours to relax, catch up on sleep or explore the city at your leisure.
Participants arriving before the 19th of August need to arrange and pay for their own airport transfers and accommodation.

Local transportation will be provided to participants from the Inchoen International Airport to the Seoul on 19th of August 2007 and back to the Airport on 23rd of August 2007.

Public transportation is also available from Incheon International Airport.

  (2) Flight Details

DEPARTURE: Thursday, 23rd of August from Incheon International Airport

When you have booked your flight please send the details to eplc2006@hanmail.net. Copy and paste the following into an email and use ‘FLIGHT DETAILS: your name’ as the subject.

  (3) Visa Information

Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa before coming. But people of 99 countries who want to visit Korea temporarily are permitted to enter without a visa-exemption agreements, or in accordance with principles reciprocity or national interest.

Tourist & Business Visas: Visitors form countries not under Visa Exemption Agreements must apply for a visa extension if planning to stay for more than 30 days. Depending on the situation of the consulate, the visa extension will be issued 1 to 3 days from the day of application. Applicants require a completed application form, a recent passport-size color photo and application fee. Visitors do not require the outbound flight ticket. Visa extensions are usually for 90 days.

All visas including long-term visas are for a single visit. Therefore anyone who wishes to leave the country and re-enter later on during the allowed period of stay should obtain the Re-entry Permit form the Ministry of Justice prior to departure. For business visas, the intention of activities must be clearly stated on the visa application form.

  (4) Things to bring

Note: Weather in Korea in August will be steamy hot and rainy in most places. Expect temperatures to reach a maximum of 30-33˚ Celsius during the day and as low as 23˚ Celsius at night. For the latest weather report see http://web.kma.go.kr/eng

You’d better bring the Sun block, Insect repellent, a cap, Extra towels, Extra spending money for optional activities, snack, and etc. Also, you can bring your laptop, camera and etc.
